Hello again,
I was probably like some of you, obsessed in trying to lower my cortisol with some natural products (phosphatidyl serine and ginkgo biloba, for me).
For some reasons, i was convinced to have a high cortisol level. I was WRONG!
My endo came back this week with some results of tests (saliva and dexamethasone) i passed weeks ago. My cortisol is bordeline LOW!
He was not surprised at all, saying that hypothyroidism is very often accompanied with adrenal fatigue and vice versa. So low energy in the morning, depression, low basal temperature, brain fog, flat emotion and sweet tooth *might* be symptoms of adrenal fatigue.
So please, be smarter than me. Don't try to fix by yourself your metabolism (hormone or whatever it is) if you don't have real proofs (tests) in your hands of your imbalance/disease. Clues are not enough.

Hi - It is not at all uncommon for adrenal fatigue to begin with too high cortisol all the time and then to get very low as the adrenals burn out...either way, high or low is considered adrenal fatigue/exhaustion...but I'm glad you're getting help now..you can recharge your adrenals by yourself, if you get lots of sleep, lower stress levles and take vitamins and also glandular (adrenal cortex) products, but it is not easy to do in this fast paced world...much better to be under doctor's care to treat that.
