Well, I talk to my pdoc in the afternoon and I'm pretty sure that a change of meds will be in order. I think I have my bases pretty well covered, but in case, here goes..
I'm on:
Effexor 150 mg
Tegretol 300 mg
Perphenazine 2 mgI have had some benefit from the perphenazine, but the others have been causing intolerable side effects.
I can't take:
SSRI's
TCA's
Wellbutrin
Lithium
NeurontinWe've talked about using Lamictal instead of Tegretolfor a mood stabilizer, and Buspar for an AD. MAOI's down the road if nothing else works. Any other suggestions?

I can't really offer up much information as I'm not so familiar with your situation, but I wonder if a combination of Strattera and high-dose Buspar could create a tolerable antidepressant effect? Buspar alone probably would be useless.
I would definitely recommend a dopamine agonist or sympathomimetic drug such as Mirapex, amantadine, or Adderall, but that could be a problem combined with the perphenazine.
Sorry, wish I could be of more help!

Having any sleep problems? Adding Remeron might be good as I feel it reverses most of the side effects that I get from Efexor.
Cheers,
Panda.

I think Risperdal would serve you better than perphenazine.

Thanks for the ideas. I brought them up to my pdoc, he courteously nodded his head, made some friendly remarks, went into this big spiel about Lamictal and now I'm on Lamictal and off the Effexor and Tegretol. As far as the perphenazine goes, it is doing something, and he wants to see how it goes with the Lamictal before changing antipsychotics. At least I don't have to stop Effexor cold turkey. I think he may be moving me towards an MAOI. He didn't say so directly, but he tends to be cryptic like that.
This is the end of the thread.
