Hi i was wondering about ad's that have stimulating effects. I am currently on paxil and it works great for my SAD but it causes some sedation. I know Wellbutrin is one option as an addition to my paxil. I was wondering whether there are any other drugs out there that are ad's and have a more stimulating side effect profile.

Wellbutrin, Effexor, Remeron (at higher doses)
Prozac/Zoloft (more stimulating than Paxil)
Parnate, Tricyclics (namely desipramine, nortryptaline, protryptaline)OR you could add a psychostimulant, Ritalin, Dexdrin, etc

Apparently Moclobemide is quite stimulating.
I remember reading some were that it can work for ME.
I haven't triad it myself though.

Thannx. Which of those you listed would also help mediate some of the negative sexual side effects of the paxil. i heard wellbutrin sometimes helps.

I hate to tell you this but I'm on 20mg Paxil and the Wellbutrin for me has done nothing for the Paxil sexual side effects. Paxil is the best med for me, I feel like myself and am at total ease around people. I went to my doctor today to ask him if you ever get used to it and adjust but it doesn't sound promising. He suggested I keep taking the 300mg Wellbutrin XL and take 1mg Xanax XR in replace of Paxil. I've never taken a benzo on a daily basis but I'm going to try because being a male I literally cannot have sex and have no desire whatsoever on Paxil. Feel the best you've ever felt before or never have sex, what a trade.
