Derealization Free?

Posted by Edgefield on January 5, 2004, at 19:06:41

I've posted about this anxiety symptom in the past...so now I'm just checking in to see if anyone has had any success getting rid of this symptom.

Can you describe what you experience?

I have had limited success with klonopin and lithium. Both decreased my anxiety and dp/dr. It was beter when I first started klonopin. May need to go up on it, but am going to talk to doc about it first.

Ace, thanks for replying. I'm about the same percentage with Wellbutrin. I was just checking to see if there was something to get rid of the remaining %.

I'm sitting here trying to find the words to describe this feeling.............It's like seeing through the wrong prescription lenses. I wear glasses an I've had my vision and glasses checked an everything is alright.

I've come to the conclusion that this is just a symptom that will wear off in time.

Thanks for the information. I've tried Klonopin when I was having panic attacks, but it didn't help elevate the derealization. I've heard good things about xanax getting rid of this feeling an I'll probably discuss this with my pdoc at our next visit.

I have a hunch that Zyprexa would be helpful. It would deal with the anxiety, an important contributor to derealization, and clear up your thinking. People report that it really clears their head.

Just a slightly less-than-wild guess.

Good luck.
