I've wondered the same thing but every time I go to the doctor about it he dismisses it and doesn't do the blood glucose tolerance test or whatever it is called. I just know that sometimes I feel better and less anxious after I have eaten right. For instance, last night I ate a blueberry strudel and then had an anxiety attack. I don't know. I think there is some link but I have no information on it and am trying to straighten out the connection myself.
I will be interested in seeing the replies to this thread.

what antidepresant are you on? do you have an appetite? when i am depressed i have no appetite- and i then have problems with low blood sugar. also if you take any drugs that supress your appetite that might be the cause, unless you are eating healthily, than i don't know. i hope that made sense.

High sugar content foods (like your blueberry streudel) often cause panic attacks for me. I think I have read that its related to the release of insulin when you dump a bunch of sugar in which in turn drops your glucose level. Many of the symptoms of hypoglycemia mimic those of panic attacks and those of primed for them will no doubt interpret them as such even if they aren't. Odd as it might sound a bit of honey or other nonprocessed sugar might help a little. Good Luck and Happy New Year, Worrier.

Actually honey itself _is a processed sugar_. In fact, honey is just as concentrated as table sugar (and can just as likewise also precipitate a hypoglycemic attack). But a processed or concentrated sugar is exactly what you want when you wish to quickly abort a hypoglycemic attack. And honey is exception. (The trick, of course, is to watch one's casual ingestion of concentrated sugar [including honey], so as to curb its potential for _triggering_ an attack.)
