Hello everyone,
I'm the old veteran of Psycho Babble. I've tried all meds and combos available on Earth.
I've been free of meds and major depression (anergy)for two years. That was achieved thanks to the ECT sessions and my hard work and motivation to get out of that illness. That board has helped me tremendously. It saved my life. I was able to get information about di-
fferent medications and hope.I was supposed to stay handicapped and dependant on other people. Doctors and friends didn't give me much chance. I had my two years of my life back. I went back to work and made friends. I went party and had my social life.
Unfortunately, I got severe marriage problems and I collapsed this fall.
I was helped by pseudopherine and caffeine on a short term. Then I developed tolerance. I had no response to Strattetra. At this point I find helpful any stimulating drugs.
I fight for survival and my life. I want to keep my work and my marriage, and be happy.
Please, any meds suggestions at this point? Any stimulants?
My doctor said the problem is strictly chemical at this point.
I have to go now, because I work today.
Please help. I'm desperate to keep my life!!!
I know it's possible.Anna P.

Hello Anna. Have you ever been on an MAOI? Parnate would be a good one for you because it is stimulating.
I've been on so many meds myself. Parnate is the first one to break through the depression.
Keep us posted.

I would second the idea of an MAOI. I am on Nardil for atypical depression (anergy, lots of sleeping, "leaden paralysis", and extra sensitivity to perceived rejection and criticism are the main symptoms of this).
This is the only AD that has had any real, signifiant, and lasting effect. There are a number of dietary restrictions that go along with taking an MAOI, but in my case, it is definitley doable, and very worth it.
I hope you can find what works for you. Nardil had been a revelation for me. I finally found my old self again!

>Anna P.,
Is the marriage causing your depression? Does your partner cause you to feel good about yourself?
