worried about SE of Strattera

Hey everyone!
I just started taking strattera today and decided to do some internet research on it and stumbled upon this message board. (which I have almost read in it's entirity). I have tried taking concerta and wellbutrin for my ADHD. Many of my friends take Adderall and I would have liked to take it also (it is distributed for finals between students in my department). Yet, because I am a student at a University that has a major Adderral abuse problem, doctors in the area are very hesitant to prescribe it.
My new pdoc started me on strattera today and told me it would not kick in for at least a week. I took it at about 4 in the afternoon,(40mg) and ate a late lunch and at the end of my fifteen minute drive home went to get gas and i think i kind of passed out for a minute. never had this happen before, but I don't have a wide range of experience with prescriptions. I went to sleep at about 4:30 in the afternoon and woke up at 11 tonight and it is almost 2 am and I am more awake than I have been in a long time.
Anybody have anything similar to that? I didn't see it in the previous messages.

Michele- although I have not tried it, I have read a lot of posts from people who have. Generally, people seem to like it. It makes them calm, and able to focus better.

It takes a couple of weeks to kick in. The tiredness problem happens with most people from the posts that I have read. But it gets better over time.

I guess one option would be to cut the pill in half for a few days and then go up to the full pill. Are they easy to cut? I have never seen one.
