i know it is not the best medication out there, but i do have a previous drug abuse history and my doc is very hesitant to prescribe any anti-anxiety, so basically thats really my only choice. Some times i've used downers-barbituates,quualudes, but they make me too sleepy. Ive used it for anxiety before, but never used it during a panic attack, which i need to. I do take zoloft, takes away some anxiety ok, but sometimes at work, i just totally lose it! and have to stay in the bathroom and wait for it to end. Does anyone have any advice, i really need it. Thanks

With a history of abuse problems, I'm thinking alcohol wouldn't be a good choice for you to be playing with. Have you discussed maybe Buspar? Suppliments can be helpful, too. It's your life, your brain, your liver, your health, etc... be careful.
I'm sorry for your problems and I do understand how awful anxiety and panic can be, but I wouldn't care to do something that would make matters worse in the long run.

Yes it can, but if you are or become an alcoholic it may cause certain side affects such as fondling waitress, spitting on Colorado State Policeman, throwing cue balls across bars at people, and losing your loades m-16 rifle while in a foreign land.

THe main cause of all my PANIC and Anxiety is alcohol. After I go out drinking, I get reallyyyyyy BADDD Panic attacks the entire next day. I feel like dying, I always end up in the hospital after drinking. Some people have a few glasses of wine and it helps their anxiety, it does the EXACT opposite to me. I hate it, I wish I didnt have a drinking problem. My panic/anxiety would be cured If I didnt drink.
