Your words have been encouraging!

Posted by happyK on December 13, 2003, at 21:34:35

I just want to say thank you all sooo much for your encouraging words...yes, I've read the negative too. However, after dealing with anxiety and finally realizing that I didn't have to live with it nor did I deserve to feel that way I talked to my doctor and was given lexapro.

I am not depressed but do have social anxiety. I was very reluctant in taking an SSRI med b/c I am not depressed and was having an issue with putting meds into my body. After reading your posts I decided to take it further than the first day and although I have had side effects of muscle fatigue, headaches, tiredness, yawning, a little blurred vision and the worst...a heavy menstrual cycle (no one has seemed to mention this but as a woman it's important for other women to know that they may experience this), ultimately I'm feeling better and have not had anxiety since I started taking it. Thank you for all your encouraging words and I hope what I have shared helps someone.

Menstrual cycle has been discussed from time to time. Myself, I skipped a couple and one or two cycles went 36 days, bled when I shouldn't, etc. Others have mentioned the increased flow. But like most Lex se's hopefully this too shall pass. I'm back to normal, been on Lex since Feb.

Good luck to you!~~~8|8

I take Lexapro and Wellbutrin and I have had terrible p.m.s.--much worse than before I started the meds. I get headaches and feel really depressed and irritable, especially at the beginning of my period. Does anyone have a suggestion for over the counter meds that help with this?
