Has anyone used Immitrex for migraines while taking Lexapro? I used Immitrex successfully before beginning Lex but the Lex package insert says something about rare reports of "patients with weakness, hyperreflexia and incoordination following the use of a SSRI and sumatriptan..." so when I got a migraine yesterday I toughed it out and was miserable. It's the first migraine I've had since beginning Lex (Oct. 13) and hope it's the last! Feeling fine this morning, hooray!

This has to do with Imitrex being a serotonin type med, so it will interact with your Lexapro. If you are on standard dose of Lexapro 10-20, you shouldn't have any real problems, nor should you really even if on 30 or 40. I think the safest bet is simply to stay away from high doses of imitrex (ie take it, but don't go to the max daily dose); even if you did take the full max daily dose, doubt much would happen. BTW Serotonin Syndrome is the name for the side effect symptoms you are describing. Check with your doctor, too.
