Hi..Im in week three on Lexapro 7-1/2 mgs...Been trying to gradually get it up to 10 mgs.Have really bad anxiety so I take 05 mgs of klonopin at bedtime which helps somewhat. What I need to know is what is the difference between taking the Lex at bedtime or in the morning.Taking it at night ,I sleep really well, but about 5:00 pm every afternoon it all starts going down hill.I start feeling really anxious and all my thoughts turn inward towards how I am feeling, and just really get focused on that within itself, which makes the anxiety worse..Would it help in any way If I took the Lex in the morning enstead.I Know this all prob sounds crazy...Its so hard to put all these weird thoughts and feelings into words. guess abstract kinda sums it up..Thanks for any and all feedback...

I have gone through the exact same thing with Lexapro. I have taken it both at night and in the morning. I guess I like taking it a little more in the morning.
It is very obvious that you need to go to 10 mg. (Give 10 mg at least a week. If it still does not last 24 hours- go to 15). Then it will last for a full 24 hours. After another 8 to 12 months, the problem may come back in which case you can increase to either 15 or 20 mg.
I am doing very well on 30 mg of Lexapro. I started on 20. After 11 months, it was wearing off gefore 24 hours. At 30, it is not wearing off.

I too started in the morning, moved to afternon, then evening, and now I'm back to mornings again. Go ahead and try it, see what works best for you.
I started @5mg, went to 10mg at 5th week, and went to 20mg at 5th month. As your body gets used to Lex you may need to increase, so that it lasts all day like BillLL said.
Hang in there!~~~8|8

> Kristen LHi Kristen, I have been on Lexapro since June, I took 5 mg for awhile but noticed very little affect on my anxiety was still quite extreme, thinking it has been about 2 or 3 months that i take a whole tablet in the morning now which is 10 mg still like yourself still deal with anxiety but noticed when i switched from 5 mg to 10 mg it did help wasnt as extreme and anxiety still there like i said but has been much better...was having like lots of anxiety attacks and now are less. But think it does make a difference to take it in the morning because seems like it takes a couple of hours before it kicks in..In fact my husband says did you remember to take your pill? because even he can tell a difference.. What you mentioned i notice too that once it wears off or maybe is starting to wear off your anxiety peaks. So maybe ask your doctor is you can take it in the morning instead and see if it helps, its worth a try any way in my opinion, but thats my opinion only LOL..My first time posting here and have read some of the messages so feel like i know some of you already..And please anyone reading this reply, because i did ask to receive emails to others posting to mine i think it is and would love to hear from you...!! and hope everyone has a nice day tomorrow a habbit of mine telling people to have a nice day...LOL
