Hi, to cut a very long story short, i have been taken 30mg remeron (mirtazipine) for about 5 mnths now for severe anxiety and panick attacks, it has helped so much with them really has, but lately this past mnth or so i am feeling very depressed, i dont want to bother the doctor as i went to see him lastweek and he just said he has sent yet another referel of to the mental health center, as the last referel wasnt good enough as i was seen before and they signed me off after i went to anxiety managment? when i wasnt even ready. he sent another referel and they said they would look into it to see who i had to go and see but never got bk to me, then when i rang them they said to me they didnt bother sending me an appointment cus i been seen before? so my doctor sent another one of? i am so depressed and i have been getting loads of suicidal thoughts, i really dont want to bother my doctor again. what this probably dont make any sense.. is ok i just needed to tell someone.

Hi! Don't hesitate to call your doctor. That is what they're there for! It sounds like you're getting the run-around in a disorganized system. Maybe you need to add something to the Remeron, isn't that just mainly for anxiety? You seem to be a little more than anxious right now :-).
Please hang in there and keep pursuing it!

im the exact same,im sick of my doctor,hes crap,like he keeps foegetting what meds hes put me on and asking really reatrded questions,for instance,i told him i cut myself,and tried explaining why i did it,cos its a kind of release,and after what i thought was a lucid explanation,he asks me why i do it!so im thining hes either not listening,or braindead,either way,i dont feel too comforted! but i know what you mean,you have to tell someone cos the isolation alone can just make things 100times more head wrecking. i think you should probably continue to go to your doctor,better to have some help,and remember,(im saying this to myself as much as i am to you!)they work gor us,the government,or whoever,is paying them to sort our heads out,or help us to sort our heads out,whichever!

hi crazychick, howarya/ havent been on this for over a week,dont have my own p.c and have to go to net cafes,yknow that kinda thing. got your email address again,so i'll write to you i you want,hows it going with your shrink,any luck?saw mine again laast week,same sorta story just nodding a lot,and he put me back on prozac. hes obsessed wieh me cutting myself,keeps asking how i feel when i do it,stuff like that.hes probably doing some thesis on it!!!

I want to check in with you. How are you and how is the doctor situation? Good docs are hard to find and bad ones are h***. Remember that just because they have "DR" in front of their name, doesn't guarantee that they graduated at the top of their class OR that they are better with people than with research.
Follow your instincts. Your instincts are good ones. The doctor SHOULD be listening to you. Is there someone else you can see or can you ask for another referral?
Some cities within the country have advocate groups like DMDA which can be of help. (Depends on who is leading the group.) And the good therapists sometimes know who the good doctors are. Heck, the nurses on the wards in hospitals know who the BEST doctors are...have any connections there?
Cutting does release chemicals into the blood stream that cause temporary relief...and (as you already know) it is quite addictive. Certain AD's will take away the desire for that chemical rush. You can also seek out different ways to get that rush. After a similar self-injury habit, I took up rock climbing and kayaking. And skiing. And running. Running was the best because I could just get out there when I needed to. If safety procedures are followed, you get the rush without the marks.
