I have a very specific question for the forum regarding Adderall-tolerance. Let me give some brief background.
A person takes Adderall for the first time and finds his ablity to focus and motivation levels sky rocket. As a result, his life improves greatly.
As time progresses his ability to focus gradually dissipates, and he is less motivated. Then, after, say, four weeks, the Adderall is barely effective. Now the only option is to increase the dosage. You can see where this is going.
My question is targeted at people who have been in this situation.
My current understanding is that there are certain drugs that prevent (or eliminate) this type of tolerance. Namely, Memantine, Acamprosate, and Dextrometorphan (DXM).
Now here is my question.
For those of you who have developed a tolerance to Adderall (not including AndrewB): Have any of you tried either Memantine, Acamprosate, or DXM and then experienced either a reduction or complete elimination of the adderall-tolerance?
If so, please respond to this post, or contact me directly at pelequin_ee@yahoo.com. I've searched the archives and the Internet and failed to find a concrete response.

Well, I'm hanging on 40mg of Adderall with 3 NDMA antagonists: L-Theanine at 100-200mgs, DXM 60mg. Magnesium up to 1000mg. I first used 10 mg Adderall but without NDMA antagonists in two months had to jump up to 40 mgs. Then I started using the above and I can say that (I think) they work. I'd use acamprosate or memantine if i'd have access though.

To the best of your knowledge, is it safe to use cough syrup every day? I'm considering using Vicks DayQuil LiquiCaps; each capsule contains 15 mg DXM, and some other stuff like acetaminophen and pseudoephedrine.

60 mg is pretty low dose, although I can't really tell whether it is safe. I will probably move on to acamprosate in short time.

I just discovered it's probably unwise to take just any cough syrup/gelcap. Some of these medicines contain agents like Pseudoephedrine, Guaifenesin, just to name a few. It's probably safer in the long-run to use products containing only DXM in their Active ingredient list.See the following link for examples of such products:
