I would like to know if many people are on Celexa at 50mg or higher. I am now on 50mg, and my target dose is 60mg.
Did you find that this dose helped much with anxiety or obsessive thoughts? Also, did it help with keeping you focused and not being distracted so much?
I am not finding that it seems to be doing much at 50mg. How long did you have to wait to experience any results?
Thanks so much.

I'm now on Lexapro which is a newer version of Celexa. But when I increased from 40mg to 60 mg of Celexa, I felt a lot better. I don't remember what is considered a toxic dose of Celexa, but I'm sure it's many times greater than 60.

I currently take 80 mg. My doctor also seemed interested in uping the dose?

I'm currently on 100 mg of Celexa. I know it sounds extreme, but I have OCD, and many times people who have obsessive thoughs are given a higher dosage than normal. Believe me, I've been asked about it, and asked about it myself. I hope this helps.

I also took 100 mg of Celexa for OCD for over a year. It was fairly effective with some slight side effects (some drowsiness). My pdoc says he has had one patient on 140 mg for quite some time now and he is doing very well. Everyone is different so don't dwell on needing to go up in dose just because it is higher than the "normal" range. Take care!
