Does or has anyone experienced flu and cold like symtoms with Lexapro? I am on my second week of it. I moved up from 5mg to 10 and i'm wondering if thats what did it. I have a runny nose and a itchy tickly sore throat. I also have a headache and feel achy all over and very very tired. not any nausea at the moment. i really dont think its a real cold or flu. i think its probably the Lex. let me know if anyone else is experiencing this. if anyone wants to email me at karalynjoyelise@hotmail.com or post back here.

I'm NOT on lexapro and I have the symptoms you describe. There are lots of viruses going around.

Many people have reported headaches, tiredness and body aches when starting lexapro. However, the runny nose and sore throat are more typical of the common cold. It could be a combination of both. I wouldn't worry too much unless you're running a temperature.
The good news is that the SE's of lex DO go away.

I got a runny nose, sore throat and flu like symptoms on the last two AD's I tried when I first started them (Effexor and Elavil). I am pretty sure it was the AD and not an actual cold in my case. Give it time, it may go away
