Hi all,
i've been on remeron 15 mg for depression but it dropped out and stopped working a couple of months ago. I changed the dosage to 30mg(i even took 45mg for awhile) and not a slightest improvement. So after a awhile i went down to 7.5mg and i'm now quitting. The thing is i'm more depressed now than ever.
Is this some kind of withdrawal symptoms that will pass or what? Is it better to take remeron so i can get out of bed, or should i continue without? I will see my pdoc soon.

Keep it at a dose you think you can best tolerate for now, it may be that you respond to another antidepressant better. I was up to 30 mg of Remeron, and it simply was not the right antidepressant for me. It helped my energy levels and apetite but not my sadness. When you withdraw from it, you may have little energy, as it can be a stimulating drug, in higher doses.

Have you tried it with prozac? I am currently prescribed 100mgs prozac, 90mgs remeron and most recently 300mgs lamictal. I have been on A/D's for 12 years, mostly prozac or zoloft, along with desipramine. This combo worked the longest until it pooped out 2months ago. Then lamictal was added and 6 weeks later, my unipolar depression was all but gone. I have tried wellbutrin, celexa, paxil, elavil...but the combo listed above worked best in relieving my depression.
