Are there any drugs that prevent depression but INDUCE hypomania?I don't want a drug that numbs me out or slows me down but at the same time, I cant tolerate a drugs that's too activating because that gives me anxiety and dissociation.

That is s tough call. Prozac totally but me to sleep where others have said that Prozac activate them. Unfortunately every med works diferently on differert people. That can be bad and good. Best advice is go to a good pdoc. good luck and hang in there.

Inositol is a powerful antidepressant, but unfortunately can be expensive. I had a robust antidepressant effect on only 5 grams per day.
I stopped taking it because I went manic. The emotions I had were so powerful and intense. They gave me the feeling that I just had to live forever.Taking 5-10 grams a day will cost you $20-40 a month, but it will certainly not make you feel comfortably numb.

> LinkadgeThat's awesome. But how long were you on it? i was on inositol for about 4 or 5 weeks at about 13g/day and didn't feel ANYthing noticeable at all-- except for horrible gas and "overly easy" bowel movements. i was so disappointed.

I'd like follow-ups regarding inositol to be redirected to Psycho-Babble Alternative. Here's a link:
