Remeron experiences

Posted by sadmom on October 30, 2003, at 9:00:37

I was wondering why there are so few postings about Remeron. I have tried 7 other anti-depressants which either didn't work, or had horrible side effects, or made things worse, or all of the above.

Remeron seemed to be helping for 9 days. Then I woke up this morning feeling like I used to.

Hi,

I've been taking remeron for over five years now and it's by far the best antidepressant i've tried. But thats me. Everyone is different.
What dosage are you on now? If it has worked for nine days I would say, increase the dosage to begin with(in agreement with your pdoc of course).

Good luck,
tensor

Well, you can't write it off altogether. It's common to have good and bad days, regardless of drug use.
I've been on Remeron (30mg) for a couple of months, and I feel that it's been more beneficial than other drugs (Celexa, Serzone, Effexor) for my physical symptoms (irritable bowel, pain, fatigue, anorexia). It's hard to say if it's helped my mood, but I think it has a relatively easy side effect profile and is a good option for those who don't respond to SSRIs.
Give it at least 3 weeks, and then decide if it's been helpful.

I had Remaron added to my Paxil (their action is synergistic). It has worked more than i believed medications could. The keys to the kingdom!

It has addressed mood depression, amotivation, SAD and insomnia.

Maybe this might help.

I have been on Remeron for 24 days now. 2 weeks at 30mg and 45mg last 10 days. I am still having side effects. There is something near my nose and in my maxilar. It is not a pain, but is very bad. I am still very sleepy for about 2 hours after I wake up in the morning. The feeling in the nose area is better compared to the first days. But the maxilar is worse. I also have numbness in the knees sometimes, and since I started Remeron, all my body is numb.
I have no anxiety now, like I never felt before and I don´t have sexual dysfunction. I have numb in all the body except in this area.
Before, I felt very well when I was taking Zoloft, Prozac or Efexor. Not well with Serzone. Very bad with Wellbutrin. I tried these medications trying to find one without the sexual problem. I have anxiety and dysthmia. I have no side effects with these except the sexual.
If Remeron dont work I will go back to a SSRI and have to live with the sexual problem.
I have all this side effects and I am still taking Remeron because it is my last try. I would like to know if it is worthy to keep taking it. Will I feel like I was feeling with the SSRI? Will the side effects disapear?
Bruno
