I suffer from social anxiety, however I don't like
taking drugs of any kind. I don't even like taking
medications for colds but if it can help overcome
anxiety I'm willing to try it or something comparable.

Hello Ted,
Paxil is not addictive.
It's effectiveness varies depending on many factors. It is, generally speaking, one of the best pills for social anxiety.
good luck, Janice

I've taken Paxil for 10 years for severe anxiety disorder. Once I ran out of my medication and thought I didn't need it anymore. I was wrong and the withdrawel symptoms were awful.
More recently it stopped working altogether and my medication was doubled. It was the single most horrible experience I have ever had.
Ask your doctor for something else. Even though it may not effect you this way...why take a chance. Good luck.
