I've been titrating up on Lamictal as mood stablizer (I'm at 100mg/day in divided doses) and my pdoc wants me to get to 200mg/day.
I could swear that since I've started it, I've become more tired, fatigued, have to take naps when possible, etc. I just kind of drag through the day, sometimes feeling foggy.
Is this something that can be caused by Lamictal? I'm on some other meds but didn't start to notice this until introducing the Lamictal.

Hi,
I take 500mg/day of Lamictal for siezures. I started taking it several years ago in combination with Dilantin. I've been taking the Dilantin for a long time. I think Jimmy Carter was president when I started on it. ; )I my case I didn't notice any side effects from the Lamictal. Lucky me!
I hope you start feeling better soon.

When I started Lamictal, I got VERY tired...sort of up and down all day, and I definately needed a nap every afternoon. I also experienced a lot of agitation and irritability too. I only got up to 125mgs, when I think it sent me into a manic state for about 4 days......now I've been working myself off of it.
I hope this won't be your experience with it...my sis takes it and has responded excellent...all side effects wore off and she's doing great. I'd say, hang in there and see if the fatigue wears off. This is supposed to be a really good drug for a lot of people. Good luck!
