Hi Ive tried wellbutrin sr before at 300 mgs and i didnt notive any effect after a couple weeks. Im 19, and my doctor says that he finds young people often need higher doses because they metabolize drugs faster (is this true?) anyway, what would be the highest dose a 19 year with no eating disorders or seizure disorders could take?

The maximum recommended dosage for an adult is 450 mg.

AFAIK, it's 450 mg for the immediate-release formulation but 400 mg for the sustained-release.

yeah i am 26 and fast metabolizer of drugs also..but some young people are slow ones too, just depends on the person....anyways are you taking the sr version? i am currently taking 450mg daily wellbutrin sr. and 300mg. daily of effexor xr. along with 2mg. xanax at night to sleep..you should be fine upping your dose if your doctor wants you to. wellbutrin didn't work for me until i went to 450mg. hope i helped somewhat

good question. Te worst side effect that limit the dosage is the convulsions. Well I am at 450 going to 600mg, but I take Lamictal, so I dot think it will be a problem. But in next consult (or consultation)sp? with my pDoc I will talk with him to put IXEL--> milnacipran. Lets see the results.
