I'm tapering Depakote really really slowly (250 mgs every 4 to six weeks) and I'm becoming frustrated as it doesn't seem it should really take that long but my doctor won't answer my question about what the minimum safe taper time is. Does anyone know?

Hey, that's a great question. I would be curious as well. I am currently on 1000mg - way to high for me, loss of hair, mental clowing, flatness, sadness, crying....I started tapering myself to 500mg - I did this over 1 week period and feel ok thus far. Perhaps do some google searches on "tapering depakote". Good luck
