finger joint siezing on EFFEXOR XR 225mg

Posted by ant on October 6, 2003, at 22:13:21

Hi,

Have been taking EFFEXOR XR 225mg for about 2 months and in the last 3 weeks, when I wake in the morning my left hand little finger is siezed closed and I need to use force to open it. It also is painful at times.
Has anybody experienced joint siezure with this med, maybe my finger is just getting too old.

Any comments would be appreciated

Thanks Ant

Hi:

Not to worry you or anything, but you should get it checked out by your doctor. It could be a neurological (brain) motor problem, which may likely turn out to ne nothing, but best to be sure.

Best wishes,
Jay

It may not be the Effexor, it may be a calcium/magnesium imbalance. The communication along the nerves can cause muscles to retract in feet or hands, causing a cramp. Does anyone know if Effexor saps either of these minerals?

I've had it happen myself when taking too many 'Tums'... Also while taking Adderall and not being good about taking my vit/min suppliments.

Just a possibility,
Escher
