Rainee,
Not sure I can be of great help here. Am only on 10mg Lex.
How long have you been on the meds?
Could it be your still adjusting to them?
Maybe they are just not for you????
If you just started taking the meds., I'd suggest just hang in there to give them time.
Good Luck!

Rainee, 60 mg of Prozac is pretty high, have you talked to your prescribing doctor about all this? Maybe you can add on another anti-depressant? I'm glad the Clonodine helps you sleep!!! My mom takes Clonodine for her blood pressure, it helps her sleep really well too. Maybe the Trileptal is not what you need here?
Why are you on Trileptal again? How about another anti-depressant or another one in conjunction to Prozac?> take 60 prozac,1200 trileptal,1mg of klonopin, jusr srated clonodine for blood pressure wich helps me sleep.

Hi there,
You can go up to 80 on prozac. The higher the better OCD properties. The obsessive thinking fuels my Panic/anxiety.
Trileptal for mood.
maybe I expect too much.thanks,
Rainee

60 mg Prozac is definitely not too high a dose. But how long have you been on it? It takes a couple of months for a full effect. Prozac is more activating than other SSRI's. If you are aggitated on Prozac, and you have given it sufficient time to work, you may want to change your meds. I was aggitated on Prozac, but not on Lexapro (I take 20 mg).

Hi Rainee, my brother was on 80 mg of Prozac and almost went to 100mg, and I never went above 20mg, so I guess when I saw 60mg I was thinking that was high~in comparison to what I was taking (20mg) obviously.
Are you feeling any better?

Hi Bill, I thought Lexapro was the most activating SSRI out now?
I was just telling Rainee that 60mg was 'a little high' because I only got to 20mg on that med.
I remember too, that it took a very long time to get the full effects when I was on Prozac~I wonder why? I'm taking Lex (10mg) and on my 6th week, do you still get depressed at times? Today I shed some tears about 'stuff' but hadn't done so except for one other time since starting Lex. Not that the med is going to halt my feelings and moods, but I was wondering how it was with you~has this happened to you while on Lexapro?

Just based on my experience, I'd guess the Prozac is causing or contributing to the agitation. It certainly had that effect on me, at almost any dose. My pdoc says that Prozac is the most anxiogenic of the SSRIs, and advised me to avoid it. But, I can't seem to tolerate other SSRIs that I've tried either. They're not for everyone.

I am doing realy well on 20 mg Lexapro. You might need to increase your dose. I think that a lot of people (and their doctors) give up too easily with antidepressants when all that may be needed is a simple dose increase.

The aggitation comes and goes. Prozac works so well on the other things my life though. Lexapro was candy to me. I was just wondering if there was an add on for this to help when I get this irritability.. prozac allows me to be free. No phobias or anything. Thanks for all the replys!
