Hi everyone,
Since Parnate apparently doesn't affect GABA as Nardil does, would taking GABA supplements from the health food store help with one's anxiety, partic. SA? Or are those things way too weak to make any real difference? Unfortunately, my psychiatrist won't prescribe me a benzo.
When it comes down to it, I probably don't need one, but sometimes I sure feel like I could use a little help.
Thanks

I think that most people seem to think that supplemental GABA does not pass the blood brain barrier too well.

>Yes, that is correct. When it comes to anxiety - it is not necessarily the amount of GABA, but it can also be transmission of it, or other factors.
You can increase the amount of brain GABA by taking Picamilon or Xyrem (GHB).
