Hi,
Don't know for sure, but perhaps you quit taking meds because you are feeling better? Or the opposite, like nothing you do will make life better for you, so why bother with the meds.
If the combination of meds you are taking seems to help you with depression and the chronic pain, you need to take them religiously. Or only stop on advice of your doctor.
If they are not working, you need to speak to your doctor(s) immediately and try something different.
Believe me, keeping in constant contact with your doc is very helpful. I started getting even more and more depressed on Paxil. I needed an increase in dosage, but didn't want to face it/admit it.
What else is going on in your life that might be contributing? Have you started any different drugs recently? Do you feel good or bad right now?
Good luck!

Hi Howdy,
The answer to your question is probably complex and lies only within you. Many of us have struggled with using meds, therapy, and things that are good for us and keep us healthy. Some due to concerns in different areas - side effects, lifelong use, "addiction", tolerence - the list goes on. I'm not sure the answer you really want and are seeking to find, but I am sure the answer is individual to you.
I do wish you the best and hope you will have a good discussion with your doctor about your honest thoughts. There is hope and help available.

Well, Howdy, are there side effects to the pain medication? Is that why you quit? What are the side effects?
Maybe you go off so you can go back on. The relief must be great when you finally do. It creates a contrast—a positive change.
Do you make a lot of changes after you go off the pain medication—letting frustration or irritability out and doing what you have to do? Do you make a lot of changes in your life after you go back on? Deal directly with issues?
This is the end of the thread.
