Hi,
I have been on Wellbutrin SR about one month -- 150mg in the morning, 150mg in the evening.
On Saturday evening, I noticed my ankles were really swollen! This has never happened to me before, and when I checked possible side effects of Wellbutrin, sure enough, edema was a possibility.
Has anyone else had this problem? If you have, does it go away after continued use? My ankles are fine for the past couple of days, but I really don't want that to happen again. Not painful, just a little scary..
Thanks!

HOlY YES! The only other drug that did that to me
to such an extent was effexor. Wellbutrin I'm still on, but the "dents" the water retention leaves still shock me at times. If I'm kneeling down and my feet are just gently resting against something with a design on it, the imprint will stay in my feet sometimes for an hour.
( I know I kept track, I was amazed, and
sort of grossly fascinated)
I had my kidney's checked because I thought it must be that.Anyway to answer your question yes, and in my broad experience with psych drugs its been the worst.
It did calm down a little, but I still resort occasionally to diuretics, especially during P.M.S. because at that time my whole body can go up a size or two. And you know, it just makes you feel so darn sexy..Oh I almost forgot, cutting down on the carbs made a noticeable difference too.

Hi, Swollen girl, here. So attractive.
So, I took one Wellbutrin pill yesterday morning and sure enough my ankles swelled up again last night. This morning, again fine. I've halved my dose of Wellbutrin.
In addition to the edema, actually occuring before it, were funny little twinges deep in my arms and legs, not quite painful, but definitely made their presence known.
Anyone have a clue what this is? All I can think of is (my brain worrying overtime) is blood clots deep in my extremities, just waiting to break off and kill me like David Bloom. Clots cause edema too, although usually just in one leg....
Help?
