Dilantin for bipolar

I've been on Lamictal for mood swings and it hasn't done a thing for me. Been on so many mood stabilisers so my PDOC is trying me on Dilantin. Has anyone here used Dilantin before? It has the same chemical properties as Trileptal and Tegretol.
