AME SANS VIE! Questions re sublingual B vitamins:

Posted by Janelle on August 10, 2003, at 15:39:54

Hi,

Sorry I still have not had the chance to email you - being limited to 30 minutes at the library makes it difficult to respond to what's already there, never mind compose a new one!

Anyway, WalMart got in the Sublingual B vitamins you suggested to me and I got them! I have a couple of questions:

1) It says to store them in a "cool, dry place" -- well I live in an EXTREMELY hot climate and when I go out during the day I crank UP the A/C so it gets a bit warm inside, so as to help control my electric bill. SO ... I put the bottle of sublingual B vitamins in the front of my refrigerator - is this okay? I'm afraid it might get too warm for them if I kept them out on the counter (or in a cabinet which gets no air)

2) When is the best time to take them? What I do in the am is take my multivitmin and meds first thing, then eat breakfast right away. Today, the first day with the sublingual B vitamins I just took a dropper full right after taking the other stuff, then had breakfast.

Is this okay, or should I be taking the B vitamins on a full stomach (meaning AFTER I eat)?

I do eat immediately (well like 5-10 minutes) after I take my meds/vitamin so I would think this is okay?

If you could answer these questions, I'd greatly appreciate it! Merci!

No problem, take your time. :-)

That's just fine -- a regrigerator is the ideal place to store it, actually. It's where I keep mine.

That's also just fine. Even though much of it is absorbed into the lining of your mouth, there is still some of it that is absorbed through your GI tract. The liquid form is no different from the tablets in that they both enter the system more efficiently via this route with food in your stomach.

Il n'y a pas de quoi. :-)

Hi,

Thanks for your answers to my questions.

I'm glad to hear you keep your sublingual B's in the refrig!

I'm a bit confused about your answer to the second question - you first said it was fine for me to take the sublingual B's with my other pills right before eating but then you said there is part of the sublingual that still goes through the digestive tract and is better absorbed with food, which makes me think I should take them AFTER I eat? (I'm likely to forget to do that, however, if I take all my other stuff right before eating).

I think I have a close enough window by eating IMMEDIATELY after taking all the stuff for whatever of the sublingual B's goes thru the digestive tract to work that way?!

Merci (and I don't remember the French word for again, but j'ai compris quand tu as dis "il n'ya pas di quoi!)

As long as you're eating right after taking your vitamins, that's fine.

Thanks! I am doing that! (nm) » Ame Sans Vie
