> 3-ValiumThese three are pretty much the same. The Valium has the longest half-life (I think) and then Ativan and then Xanax. For me, Xanax and Ativan were least sedating. Valium was ok - but Ativan worked better. Doctors favor Klonopin (right now anyway) because it has such a long half-life which allows for a smoother action throughout the day. IT also has strong anti-panic properties and works well with other antidepressants.

Restoril is in the same family of the above meds, but is used as a sleeping med and is not forumlated to be used during the day for general anxiety. It works well for insomnia.

Ultram is a partial opiate non-narcotic pain reliver that works with specific opioid pain receptors and also inhitbits reuptake up NE and Serotonin.

Hi, Ativan wasn't sedating enough for me personally, Xanax didn't touch me either, I never tried Valium, and Restoril worked but at 2 doses. I still think that Klonopin is the longest acting out of all those.
Ultram is wonderful-makes you feel really good;) and the Pheno I tried for sleep and it did wonders-mixed with Halcion.Hope this helped a little.
Best, Gal> I would like peoples experiences with these meds.
