Hi all, I switched from Celexa 20mg to Lexapro 10mg about 6 weeks ago. I have noticed quite a few things and need some insight and advice before I switch back.
1. I feel MORE depressed on Lexapro than Celexa
2. I feel less anxious but also apathetic
3. I don't sleep as well
4. It hasn't helped with sexual side effects
5. I feel tired quite a bit where as before I was a bit hyperThe worse part is the depression. I'm wondering if I need to give it more time but if I was on Celexa and Lexapro is suppose to be the same thing, why is this happening? Pls. help, I don't know what to do.
Thanks,
CoryB

I had very similar experience.
I understand the theory behind Lex but it did not work that way for me i.e. the A/D effect without the side effects did not happen. Celexa never made me feel tired at all but with Lex I was exhausted.
Like they always say on this board "Your mileage may vary"

So go back to Celexa. Lexapro is supposed to be stronger and have less side effects, but maybe not for some.

Hi
I just want to share with you that I had similar problems with Lexapro, but you were way more patient than I, and lasted longer on Lexapro than I did. I tried Lexapro twice, quit it, and went back to Celexa. I was SO tired on Lexapro and I felt WORSE.
I am back to 10 mg. of Celexa in the evening, which is the minimum I can get by with. I don't like taking it because of the loss of libido, but so far, I haven't found anything that works as well and that is as benign. I can lead a normal life without having crying jags or trying to rip my husband's head off. I am not as hypersensitive and mopey as I was before I started taking it, so it must be doing some good. We do what we have to do. If the Celexa worked, I would go back to it. (As that great philosopher once said "If it works, don't fix it").
Good Luck and God Bless. I sure hope you feel better.> Hi all, I switched from Celexa 20mg to Lexapro 10mg about 6 weeks ago. I have noticed quite a few things and need some insight and advice before I switch back. >
