Ok, I've been on Effexor for 5 years and am finally conceding that it isnt working very well for my depression. Prior to that, I had tried Paxil, Prozac, Celexa, and Serzone--which either didnt work for depression for me or only made my anxiety worse...I currently take Neurontin for anxiety, and that does help a great deal for anxiety. It's been awhile since I've switched, and I know there are some new ones out there--Luvox, Remeron, and wonder if anyone can make suggestions as to what has or hasnt worked for them for depression, without making anxiety worse...I will not take something that is likely to cause me to gain weight...

In reply to Antidepressant suggestions, anxiety disorder too.., posted by KimMcD on July 25, 2003, at 17:53:33
I went from Effexor and Wellbutrin to Lexapro with great results. The Lexapro has also helped with anxiety more than any of the aforementioned.
I also take 2-4 mg Klonopin / day and 20 mg Valium PRN.
