I'm having problems where I never really fall completely to sleep at night. Just kind of lay there in a half dream state and I am very restless and wakeful. My pdoc prescribed Ativan, 1 to 2 mg per night, but I find that isn't enough. Doens't seem to have any effect on me at all really. Anybody know of something that will knock me out at night so I can get some good rest? I'll ask the doc about it if you can suggest anything.
Thanks...yawwwwnnnnnn
Oh by the way, I also take Abilify, wellbutrin, prozac, adderall for BP I and ADD.

Ativan is a tranquilizer, so it makes you calm, but it doesn't necessarily make you sleep.
Ambien and Sonata are sleeping pills. Some doctors are hesitant to prescribe them for long term use (they are often hesitent to prescribe Ativan, too), but depending on the cause of your insomnia they might do it.
I have insomnia from the Prozac I take, so my doctor has me on Sonata (I can't take Ambien).
Sweet dreams

I have a sure bet that has never let me down ....25 mg of Seroquel and 7.5 mg of Remeron. I was at 15 mg of Remeron but lowered the dose due to the increased histamine effect. Many posters use Remeron alone so you may want to try this first before adding the seroquel.
I also used 2 mg ativan in the past for sleep but found it to be inconsistent.
Hope this helps!
