Well, i stayed really depressed for four days on ferrous gluconate... i was supposed to be taking 1 324mg tablet (about equivalent in elemental iron to 34mg) three times daily... i switched to taking one tablet once daily, at bedtime, and the depression resolved within a day. Weird, maybe i just have some idiosyncratic iron metabolism or something. My nail beds, however, are already a little less pale, as are my inner eyelids and gums, so I think the anmemia is starting to resolve a bit.
