I pushed Zyprexa back down to 2.5 bid (5mg) a few days back. Well I noticed a big difference between 7.5mg and 5 mg. Efficacy dow the drain.
Going through the literature, smokers olanzapine levels can fall down by up to %40. And a document by Virtual Hospital- a very reputable site- said those who smoke only more than half a pack a day (ie 10 smokes) may require higher doses. I vouch for this.
So smokers take note!
I'm going back up to 7.5mg real soon.

In reply to Zyprexa= 5mg can be a weak dose if you smoke, posted by ace on July 20, 2003, at 23:34:33
I just got a nicotine replacement nasal spray in my attempt at giving up smoking.. int he literature it says to check with pharamicist if you're on Olanzapine as you might need a lower dose when you give up!
I'm only on 5mg though, so a drop to 2.5mg would be nic, and hopefully help witht eh damned tiredness I get form it
