Hi,
So I've been dxed as bipolar NOS and my pdoc wants to start me on Depakote. Anyone have experiences with this? good and bad? I do have bad depressions so I'm wondering about this side of it too. I'll only be on Depakote to start anyway.
Any comments?

HI,
I've not been on Depakote but have always been on lithium. When I wanted to switch to Depakote to try something different, my psychiatrist always avised against it mainly because it can cause liver problems. I know it can have side effects like weight gain and hair loss. Sometimes side effects like that only add to anxiety and stuff like that. It's hard to find the right med but I wish you the best.
