What is a good schedule for weaning off of Lexapro 10mg?

If I'm not mistaken, isn't that the lowest dose of Lexapro? If so, you can probably just stop, though I would make sure your doc was aware of it. I switched directly from Lexapro to Zoloft - stopped Lexapro one day and started Zoloft the next, with no real problem, minus a *mild* bit of nausea from the Zoloft the first couple of days, but that passed.

I don't remember if you can split Lexapro or not, but if you can, you might take 5mgs/day for a week or so and stop from there. Either way, you'll be fine.

Theo,
I have been out of town for a week so I have not been up to date on what has been going on. I assume the Lex just didn't work for you? If that is the case I'm so sorry. I was comparing myself to you since it appeared we started at the same time.

Take care Tim

It just seemed flat, not depressed but no feelings. Ed McMahan could of been knocking on my door with millions and I would feel no emotions. Plus some obssession about wondering if Lex would ever kick in more than it was.

I forgot my Xanax when I went to work yesterday and I guess it's like my pacifier. I managed the day fine I kind of felt like I had excess energy. Your early posts on Lex gave me encourgement and helped me through my rough times. You do what you have to do and I've realized early on that the mind can be a terrible thing and that's where that obsession probably comes from because I had those same thoughts, is it going to work or is it going to get better. Well Theo hang in there and keep us updated on what you do and how you do.
Take care!! Tim

I certainly don't want to discourage anyone taking Lexapro but again its been since May 5th and maybe it was to much medication for me. When I took Prozac, Paxil and Celexa my max dosage was 20mg. Since Lexapro was similiar to Celexa 40mg, maybe it was just to much for my system. I will say that after not taking Lexapro for two days I have much better clarity and don't feel as tired. No discontinuation side effects so far so thats good news for anyone taking it that may decide it's not working for them.

Great Theo glad to here you are doing better. I am going to the pdoc tomorrow and my hope is that I currently take .5 xanax 4x a day that I can play with .25.
Take care!! Tim
