I'm only taking 75 mgs of effexor XR once a day. What's a good tapering off schedule? SHould I take the 75 every 2 days or should I start taking 37.5 every day first?
I'm looking to minimize the withdrawal effects if it's possible.
thanks

Because of effexor's short half life, if you do 75 every two days, you may experience some withdrawl symptoms on your off days. 37.5 is a more smooth way to do it. If you want to be really careful, go 37.5 a day then 75 a day for a week, then 37.5 a day for a week. then try to split the 37.5 in half and do that for a week. If no w/d's at that point, I'd say you are in the clear to quit. Good luck. And if you do get bad w/d's, don't freak out, there are ways to deal with it such as short term prozac use.

i appreciate the advice. I'm just worried about the side effects. All I can do is try, I guess.
thanks again
