I don't know if anyone else notices but when I try to search for an article by searching on key terms that have appeared in that article, the search results don't return all the articles that have those terms that have been posted this year. For instance I wanted to look up posts that discussed theanine and I got three results. I know there are so many more posts that have theanine in the message. Why can I not get to those?
Also I am wondering about peoples experiences with l-theanine. Has anyone found it does anything to them?
Thanks

Hi Samplemethod--
Questions about site management go on the PB Administration Board, and I think that Dr. Bob may see and respond to this searching question there. I reposted it over there for you and here's a link:

I like L-theanine -- for me, it provides a subtle but definite calming/focusing effect at doses of 200-400 mg. It's used as an additive in all sorts of products in Japan, and is abundant in tea (along with a whole host of beneficial antioxidants if you get it by drinking tea, which I also do). There's also some recent evidence that theanine boosts the immune system, although I'd like to see the followup on this.
I'm very skeptical of supplements for mood alteration, but a few actually seem to work for me: L-theanine, fish oil, and Enada NADH. And (no surprise) I seem to feel better with good diet, exercise, and supplementation with vitamins and minerals at reasonable doses. But I still need the prescription meds as well.
This is the end of the thread.
