My current pharmicist at Walgreens asks me about being on 40mg of Celexa and 200mg of WellbutrinSR. She asks me about it every time I get a refill. I always try to explain to her that each medicine does different things. I try to explain to her that Celexa is a very selective SSRI and Wellbutrin will do things to elevate norepinephrine in small doses and it will increase dopamine in higher doses aswell.
This last time she said that she was looking up the metabolism of Celexa and that she was concerned that my doctor was doing blood and liver tests seeing that I take the Wellbutrin too.
Geez! I believe that my doctors know more than this pharmacist does. I keep telling her that I've been on both drugs for almost two years now without a problem. I keep trying to tell her that this is a common combination.
*Shrugs* I guess she'll ask again next time... It just gets so very annoying.

> SimchaI hope you can take a step back from the situation, and be very grateful that you have a pharmacist of this caliber watching over you. Doctors make mistakes, and can be uninformed (especially about interactions).

I second that, of course all Dr's are different,
but my personal experience has been that except for 2 out of 6 of my Dr's, my pharmicists were substantially more aware of side effects and drug interactions than my Dr's were and also seemed more willing to answer questions.

Pharmacists receive far more training in meds and their actions and reactions than docs do.

I was on 300 mg of Wellbutrin along with 40 mg of Celexa and it worked great for me. The only trouble was gaining thirty pounds in three months once I started the Celexa. Have you experienced any weight gain while on Celexa?
