I've been taking Lexapro (10mg) for about 12 days now. And as of yesterday I started to feel a bit hyper and or anxious, like i should take a walk or go to the gym. Is this normal and will it pass? Any suggestions would be great

Many people experience anxiety with Lexapro early in treatment. It usually disappears before the drug begins to improve depression. I would guess that the anxiety will abate by the end of the third week, if not sooner. I encourage you to stick with it.Good luck.

Yes, I have been on 20 mg for almost 3 weeks and am getting anxiety from Lex. I am hearing that it does go away. I have considered switching back to Zoloft, but am torn if I should try to stick this out a little more. Doc wants me to give it until next Tuesday and follow up with him. Until then, I am on Xanax, which I never had to take that often, but am now.

>I never had anxiety attacks before. But I had some bad ones during weeks 4-5 along with increased depression. Glad to say these SE's went away.
My DR told me Lex might take 6-8 weeks to work. That alone I found very depressing and almost did not start taking Lex because of it. I actually felt like Lex started to work at week 9.
What helped me most was THIS BOARD AND ALL THE WONDERFUL ENCOURAGING PEOPLE HERE!!! Whenever I felt down or ready to quit I would come here...it's the best!!!!
HANG IN THERE AND GIVE THE MEDS A CHANCE TO WORK!!!!
This is the end of the thread.
