Nardil has stopped working.

Posted by Peppa8 on April 24, 2003, at 12:00:47

I hope that someone can help me with this; Nardil is the only anti-depressant that has ever worked for me and now it has stopped.
I went off of it for 5 weeks then back on 5; then off for 4-5 months and on for another six weeks and still no good.

I have supplemented it with Dexedrine before with some success and am taking Dexedrine now, although Dexedrine by itself just makes me a more awake depressed person!).

Has anyone had any experience with this? My depression is crippling and Nardil is the only med that made me feel hope again. The last six-week period ended only a couple of weeks ago and Ive been taking the Dexedrine since then. Im wondering if its worth a try to combine the two again or if any of you may have some other suggestions for augmenting?
Or any helpful ideas?

Thanks so muchI eagerly await.

Hi!

This might sound strange but I would lose the Dexedrine and raise the dose of Nardil to 90mg+

It is possible the Dexedrine is working against the Nardil.

If that doesn't work, move on to other augmenters - Pindolol, Bromocriptine, mood stabilizers, Klonopin etc. Just persist!

Good luck!

Ace.
