Hello everyone!
I have been on .25mg of Risperdal for a week now and it's already making me gain weight. Please somebody tell me that Seroquel doesn't do this but is still effective. Also if you found it does cause weight gain and/or is not effective please tell me. Tiina

I was on Seroquel for 15 months and found it helpful for racing thoughts and anxiety. I gained several pounds on it though. I eventually had to stop it as I was becoming unmotivated.
While AP's can be helpful for many people just be sure to taper slowly if you withdraw from them. I've had some withdrawal symptoms that may have been avoided if I'd tapered instead of stopping abruptly. Good luck.

I have been on 50mg Seroquel since Feb. I haven't gain any weight on it at all. Although I only take it at night too. I really like it. At first it made me really groggy in the morning but a cup of coffee would get rid of that feeling. Good luck.

I took it for 2 years .I had no problems of weigth gain . Its the best AP for me.

I take 300mg just for sleep. Tremendous amount of weight gain. Tremendous - for me at least. Seems to be too much of powerful med to be on just for sleep but....
