Help me pls!!!!

Posted by Troubled_Boy on April 9, 2003, at 3:06:01

I am currently taking 225mg of Effexor and 600mg of Lithium. I like to ask whether it is true that lithium will boost the effect of Effexor?

As a student, i am concern with some of the side effects of lithium. Is it true that lithium actually causes slow thinking ,memory diffculties and incresase in acne?

how long does the antidepressants take to work on patients with dysthmia?

Can Effexor be used to treat chronic tension headache?

And oh yes, i will always wake up early in the morning, about 4-5am, which will make me very restless and sleepy throughtout the day. I had this problem for several months already in spite of taking the medication that is suppose to make me sleep. Can you pray for me? Thanks a lot.

I've been taking 900 - 1200 mg of Lithium for 8 years. I love it. I need to take Synthroid to counteract the thyroid effect. When I am taking other drugs that also cause tremors, then I have tremors. Once, some number of years ago, I tried to go off the lithium and could tell right away that I didn't want to go off it. I did take it for a while with Effexor (if I recall, 225 mg Effexor and 900 mg Lithium). I don't remember there being an issue with taking them together (but that was at the beginning, and I didn't know as much then).

I love my Lithium!

Good Luck

>>>>> It sure might. Does for many.

>>>>You'll have to see the effects it has on you, everybody's different.

how long does the antidepressants take to work on patients with dysthmia?

>>>>>>>Again, everybody's different. The lithium could help it work better and faster.

Can Effexor be used to treat chronic tension headache?

>>>>Don't know.

>>>>>You could try low-dose Remeron (7.5 mg); it works great for sleep problems.

I tried lithium and it was an unpleasant experience. If you were someone I really cared about like say my son or my brother I would urge you to get off of it. Especially if you weren't sure if it was working. I would try fish oil. Omega Brite or - Health from the Sun Ultra Omega-3 Fish oil, in liquid form (much cheaper than Omega Brite). You might be amazed at how well it works.
