This is the worst time of year for me--the past two Mays I overdosed. I am already feeling very depressed and overwhelming anxiety. I have been on lexapro 20mg and seroquel 200mg and klonopin 1mg. Now Dr has added Wellbutrin 100mg, gabitril 16mg and buspar 7.5 to 15mg. I feel like a walking drug store. I have been so nervous since I started Wellbutrin one week ago--will the nervousness go away?? Does anyone have any suggestions? I know I need major meds to combat the feelings I have but I think I am on too much and don't know what to suggest cutting out.

Mandy, you are NOT alone. I too suffer from depression and anxiety, the latter of which has skyrocketed since my last pdoc appointment when he observed aloud that I am on "low doses of A LOT of medications" - EEEEEEEEK. I'm on a couple of the same ones as you, but mostly a bunch of other ones. My pdoc intends to "streamline" me over the next few months to reduce the number of meds I'm on if possible.
I also feel like a walking drug store (good way of putting it, by the way). When I take *all* my pills each morning and night I almost freak out. But then I think about the quality of life I would have WITHOUT them. So, I tell myself (sometimes I believe it, sometimes I don't!) that I'm better off on all the meds than off them.
As for your question about nervousness on Wellbutrin, I have heard of many cases where it increases agitation and would say to you that if this does not go away in a week or so to call your pdoc and express your concerns.
And to address your concern about being on too many meds and which to cut out, that decision has to be made between you and your PDOC. I'd be afraid to give you any kind of advice on that; I'm no professional that's for sure. I know a lot about meds cuz I've been on so darn many and done research, but I'm just a layperson.
Good luck to you.

Mandy,
Take these:
Vitamin-B Complex
Magnesium (glycinate form works best for many)
Vitamin-C
Fish Oils (get Carlson's brand if you've got the money)
Folic Acid could help a lot also
(Best to be tested first but since many can't get tested correctly (money reasons) try these and see how that goes!

Hi Mandy,
Can I just ask you how you know what effect each drug is having on you? I often wonder when somebody is on so many drugs how they know what each one is doing. You say you are on Seroquel, gabitril, klonopin, buspar and Wellbutrin what effect is each one having? I know that when I tried buspar it made me feel worse, apathetic and yet anxious at the same time but if I had of taken a Zyprexa at the same time I wouldn't have noticed the effects of the buspar.

I wish I knew what effect each drug has--being on so many, it is hard to tell, Initially the lexapro helped muy depression and the seroquel and klonipin helped me to sleep and anxiey. But she wanted to get me off serroquel and klonopin so added gabitril to help with anxiety. But then I crashed last week and could not stop crying and have no motivation to do anything. I am scared to leave my house. So she added Wellbutrin for depression and buspar for extra push for anxiety. I seem to have really babbled on but hopefully this answers your question an any advice is welscom. I am still depressed and anxious so I do not know when meds will all kick in
