the ssris are often prescribed for Premature ejaculation but also have aside effect of decreased libido and weak orgasms. Remeron seems to be good for premature ejaculation without the side effect of the ssris (decreased libido and other sexual sid effects)(due to dopeamine loss) Remeron is also good for major depression and social phobia, gad/pd and ptsd and could work for ocd in some cases. Remeron is a great drug. Why is it so underrated?

One more thing, Remeron has no sedation and less weight gain at doses of 45 mg and above. It has virtaully no side effects.

Hmm... I would think it depends on individual physiology a lot, but in some cases it would likely be 7.5 mg.

My experience:
7.5mgs - sedating at night(puts you to sleep) but not sedating through the day.
15mgs - good for sleep. Very sedating throughout the day.
30 mgs - puts you to sleep. Sedating throughout the day but will wear off in a week or two. Good anti-depressant effect.
45mgs - good for sleep. Not sedating at all. Very good anti-depressant effect.
60mgs+ - aggitated and couldn't handle it. Had to lower to 45mgs.

Going to try 45mg for 2 weeks. Told my doctor that the sedation was getting to me. I can definitely see how going up to 45 will give me a little more adrenergic effect but I'm predicting feeling only "wired but tired." I give the analogy of the antihistamine effect being balanced by the adrenergic effect is like drinking a lot of coffee because you didn't get enough sleep last night. The coffee certainly helps but it's not like getting a good night's rest [meaning less antihistamine effect]. If this doesn't work, I'm going to see if 15mg is any better than the 30mg was for me. A few people have mentioned that they were actually less sedated at this low dose. Then, as a final try, I'm going to try 7.5 mg along with a little SSRI in combo.

For me 30 was more sedating than 15. I've tried 7.5, to see if would be better still, but 7.5 let the depression back in. 15 is a pretty good dose for me. And by the way, Remeron is the ONLY AD I've been able to take at a therapeutic dose. I'm very thankful for it.
Hope you find a med and dose that works for you.
