Dr. gave me Provigil for Lexapro fatigue

Posted by KRM123 on March 28, 2003, at 13:03:26

Today is week 2 on Lexapro. I went to see a psychiatrist today and he gave me Provigil 100mg for the extreme tiredness I've been feeling on Lexapro. I can tell that I am more alert taking this drug- but feel like I'm on drugs which is not good. I just want to feel normal! I am about to quit and try something else.

What kind of drug is provigil ?

Like others have said you need to give it more time for the side effects to lessen. If they aren't gone by week 4 then ask for another drug.

good luck, its sucha hassle having to go through all this just to feel happy !

Provigil is a drug to keep you awake. It doesn't give me all that much energy but helps a little bit. I just hate that "being on drugs" feeling. I don't want to take both medications I feel weird so I am probably going to switch to Prozac or Zoloft. I've tried Zoloft before and it gave me no side effects but I gained weight and couldn't get it off even if I dieted. I couldn't tell that it helped with the depression so that's why I quit it. Maybe I higher dose might help and now that I'm getting my compulsive eating in order that could help me with weight. Did Prozac or Zoloft ever work for you?
