I am so confused and really don't know what to do. Tomorrow will be week 2 on Lexapro for me. The first week I was real tired, headache, depressed and "foggy brain". Everything has improved and almost gone away except for being tired. That has not improved at all!! I sleep all the time and feel very pathetic- this is not helping me feel better. I can tell my mood is getting better, but seriously I don't know if I can put up with taking 2 or 3 naps a day. I am a college student so it is hard for me to concentrate on school feeling like this. If someone could guarantee me that I will be better at a certain point and full of energy- I think I could last a week or two longer- BUT I DON'T KNOW! Going to Dr. tomorrow...maybe I'll start over and try something else =(

Unfortunately, nobody can *guarantee* anything with these meds. However, since you're *only* on your 2nd week, and it typically takes at least 4 weeks for full benefits to kick in and side effects to go away, perhaps you ought to give it another couple of weeks.
I have LOTS of experience with having to give a-d's the proper amount of time to see if they were going to work; sometimes I got impatient and did not, but I've learned that it really does pay off to put in the waiting period if you can last.

My sister and I are both on Lexapro. She takes hers late afternoon about 4-5pm which is about 4-5 hours before she goes to bed.
I take mine before 6 every morning. But, I don't get sleepy from it.
She was taking hers in the morning and was taking a nap every day. Now, by taking hers late afternoon she is fine. We've both been on it about 2 months.
So, perhaps changing the time will help. Good luck.

Thanks Caha- Yeah I've tried taking it at night and I've been split the pill and taken 5mg 12 hours apart. Nothing seems to be working. I am tired of being tired. Might have to change. Glad the Lex is working for you.

If Lexapro seems to be working for your depression, I'd try adding SAM-e. I added it to Paxil and it's been great. Improves my mood a great deal, as well as my anxiety, but most importantly to you, really adds energy. Any questions just ask.
