Electric Shock feelings - Effexor - HELP!!!

Posted by Mikeyqld on March 8, 2003, at 21:41:03

Hey all, Ive been coming down off effexor for almost 3 weeks now. I was only on 150mg and as soon as i started changing the dosage i started getting these weird electric shock feelings starting from my chest and inside my head and spreading outwards very quickly. Now, i have been right off effexor for 3 days and am still getting them but really badly. I am sleeping heaps and feel quite rotten from it. Any advice or suggestions would be most welcome!

On stopping most seretonergic drugs can cause the 'electric shock' type symptoms you describe. I've experienced this with several AD's, especially with peroxetine. Try not to let it worry you, it will stop its just commen withdrawel. Maybe come off the drug more slowly?

How long were you on it? (nm) » Mikeyqld
