I'm trying to decide with my therapist which long-acting stimulant to try after using Focalin or Ritalin for years now. The only long-acting one I have tried was Concerta and I didn't like it that much, although I feel like I didn't give it a fair trial. Since I have never tried Dexedrine, my doc wants to try the XR version --Adderall -- first.
But I'd like to take a poll here:
between Adderall, Ritalin LA and Concerta, can everyone please chime in about which one is their favorite and why (and if you think the short-acting stims are still superior, then please list your preference among these as well) thanks

Dexedrine IR didn't help ADHD symptoms much, but helped daytime drowsiness better than anything else, and was actually somewhat anxiolytic. Ritalin LA was Ok, but was too expensive for its wavy releasing and responsiveness. Never tried Concerta.

When's Coke XR coming out?
With the profit margins Columbian drug lords have been getting, you'd think they'd recycle a little of it into R&D for an extended-release formulation, eh?
Speaking of which, I'd also like to see a generic form come out sooner. Think of how much I'd save in co-pays to my drug lord insurance company...

i suggest giving the concerta a fair try... it's a much more subtle drug in my opinion.
no, it's not going to give you the big kick the others do, just a small surge, which might be why you weren't satisfied...
but it's also the reason it's truly effective as a time-release ADD med... it's created to only release a small amount immediately & then continue dosing for up to 12 hrs... which is about how long i think it lasts for me.. i have no sleep problems from it & i don't crash eitherfyi, i take 54mg 1x a.m
hope this helps
